Queen city book bank
A non-profit literacy network in Cincinnati wanted a mascot to use for their marketing, so I came up with these designs for them.
We had originally chosen a queen bee for the mascot, but ran into a similar company who had already used a bee for their logo and we didn’t want to run into any confusion. Flying pigs are a bit of a city theme for Cincinnati, so the client decided on a flying pig instead.
Initial designs for a queen bee mascot. We moved away from this direction, but the client really liked the vibe of this character and requested I use the same style but with a flying pig.
A more refined style for the queen bee character. The client liked the looser style better, so we went with that instead of this one.
