King Richard the Lionheart died on the 6th of April 1199, from an arrow wound that got infected. He actually wasn't that great of a king - went gallivanting around on a bunch of crusades killing people for the heck of it (not cool, bro) and left the country to be run by his bro John (also not cool). Makes an awesome good guy in Robin Hood though!
